The safety warning systems - commonly used on heavy machinery today - sound every time the vehicle is reversed even if there is no immediate danger of collision. Consequently, people using and around the vehicles have become desensitized to the sound and fail to respond accordingly when the alarm is heard.

Operators need an active safety solution which notifies them of an impending accident or fatality. This also eliminates the issue of noise pollution both within the site among workers and also to the surrounding community.

The Rearsense Obstacle Detection Radar detects stationery and moving objects directly behind the vehicle and alerts the driver in the cabin with both sound and lights, getting progressively louder as the object gets closer. The small display unit is easily mounted in the cab while the sensor can be bolted to the vehicle body, hung on a bracket or mounted out of sight behind any non-metallic surface.

Three different noise levels/settings in the cab.
Choice of either 3 metre,5 metre, 6 metre or 8 metre coverage areas.
