The highly acclaimed result of this intensive development and testing has been Preco's rearsense™ Dual Sensor radar object detection system.

Our Challenge: To actively protect primary waste collection vehicle platforms (Front Loaders, Side Loaders and Rear Loaders) during backing operations with uniform performance regardless of the platform type, weather or lighting conditions ensuring operators consistent and repeatable results. Based on similar technology used in our standard rearsense™ offering, the dual sensor rearsense system incorporates an additional radar sensor, heavy duty jacketed cabling and a modified display, all designed specifically for the most severe duty Waste applications and is backed by a 5 year warranty (sensors and display only).

Additionally, the rearsense system can be used as the “active” component to “passive” camera systems ensuring the operator is notified, not only visually, but audibly to confirm their field of visibility using mirrors, camera monitors and line of sight during their vehicle backing operation.
